Deputy Leader of The Nationals and Senator for Victoria, Bridget McKenzie has today welcomed the announcement of Nationals candidate for the electorate of Mallee, Anne Webster.
“The Nationals are the most Democratic Party in all of politics, and today grass roots democracy was in full swing.” Senator McKenzie said.
Local party members of The Nationals have chosen Zoe Support founder Dr Anne Webster as The Nationals Candidate for the Division of Mallee at the next federal election.
Anne Webster was selected from a field of six outstanding candidates at a party meeting in Birchip.
“Anne will be a great asset to our team, she brings with her a strong skill set and passion to tackle the upcoming election, head on.
Her love of the Mallee electorate and the people within it was made clear here today.” Senator McKenzie said.
Anne is based in Mildura and worked for a range of important community organisations including Mallee Family Care and Mallee Support and Accommodation Program.
Anne studied a Bachelor of Sociology and History and a Bachelor of Social Work Honours at Latrobe University in Mildura before completing her PhD at Australian National University.
“I will continue to be a strong advocate for my community and I am excited to take up the fight for the people of regional Victoria.” Anne Webster said.
