Leader of The Nationals David Littleproud is back in Western Australia and will join The Nationals’ candidate for Bullwinkel Mia Davies on the campaign trail today, declaring Bullwinkel as one of the most important seats to win at the upcoming federal election.
Ahead of cutting the ribbon at The Nationals’ Bullwinkel campaign office in Kalamunda, Mr Littleproud warned that if Labor won Bullwinkel, Australia would be in for another three years of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
“Australians will ask themselves at the election, are they better or worse off after almost three years of a Labor government?,” Mr Littleproud said.
“Labor has not delivered for the people of Bullwinkel, whether that be failing to provide a much-needed Incident Control Centre, to support disaster readiness, or failing to provide the housing needed as the area of Bullwinkel continues to grow.
“A future Coalition Government will ensure Bullwinkel receives its fair share of the Coalition’s $5 billion home building plan, with a target of 30 per cent of the funding to be invested to unlock new homes in regional Australia.”
A Coalition Government will also free up more than 100,000 homes by:
“A Coalition Government will fight cost-of-living pressures by building a stronger economy, fixing the housing crisis, backing small business, delivering affordable and reliable energy and rebalancing our migration programme.
”Under Labor, costs are up across the board, with food up by 12 per cent, housing up by 14 per cent, rent up by 17 per cent, electricity up by 32 per cent and gas up by 36 per cent.
Ms Davies said people living in the Bullwinkel electorate felt let down by the Albanese Government.
“Telecommunications through the Hills and Avon Valley are patchy and unreliable, and finding an affordable home to rent or buy is beyond the reach of many families,” Ms Davies said.
“Upgrading community infrastructure to support our sporting clubs, and fire and emergency preparedness are also top of the list for the community when I’m out doorknocking with our team across the electorate.
“As a grassroots Party we understand the importance of getting the basics right for our communities so they are connected and safe, small businesses can grow and families have a roof over their heads.
“Prime Minister Albanese fails on the basics, can’t manage the economy and doesn’t understand WA. It’s time for a change."
Our priorities are building stronger regional economies and secure communities, delivering opportunity and prosperity for all regional Australians, and ensuring a sustainable environment.
Stronger, more secure, sustainable local communities that provide the opportunity for everyone to prosper will deliver a stronger, more secure and sustainable nation.
The Nationals commitment to the national interest does not stop there. The Nationals provide a considered and common sense perspective on all elements of Government policy and a balance between Australia’s political extremes.
