The Nationals Federal Management Committee has appointed Ben Hindmarsh as the Party’s new Federal Director.
Mr Hindmarsh brings to the role more than 15 years’ experience working with The Nationals in state and federal politics.
Currently Chief of Staff to the Hon Darren Chester Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Mr Hindmarsh has previously held senior positions within the Offices of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Deputy Premier of Victoria.
The Nationals Federal President Larry Anthony welcomed Mr Hindmarsh’s appointment to take the organisation towards the next Federal election.
“Ben’s experience and energy will be a great asset to the Party,” Mr Anthony said.
“He brings a rare mix of experience in senior political administration, policy development and campaigning to the organisation.
“This is a great appointment for The Nationals and, along with the organisational and parliamentary wings of the Party, I look forward to working with Ben in the role.”
Mr Anthony paid tribute to the loyalty and commitment of outgoing Federal Director Scott Mitchell after almost five years of service.
“I thank Scott for his dedicated service to the Party and pay tribute to his record as Federal Director steering The Nationals to two important election wins that have left the Party in a strong position,” Mr Anthony said.
Mr Hindmarsh will commence in early February after Mr Mitchell formally steps down from the role.
